We know our delegates love to dance – so we’ve got you covered! A placid acoustic guitar player will begin your night musically, following later in the evening with an amazing band to lift your partying spirits. Dancing and singing are wildly encouraged!

Make sure you take a selfie and full advantage of the Photo Corner booth. Don’t forget to share your photos using the hashtag #online17.

This evening is made just for you; this is the moment to relax, let your hair down and have fun! But remember it's a highly important aspect of your professional development to be able to familiarise yourself with the key influencers of our industry. The conference dinner is the perfect opportunity to make new connections, and re-connect with colleagues. Surrounded by fellow conference attendees you can get to know your industry in a low key, relaxed environment.

Please note: the conference dinner is not an allocated seating function.​ This function is included in full conference registrations but you must indicate your attendance during the registration process and be in possession of a ticket to attend.

State Library of New South Wales: DX Lab and Digitisation Lab

DX Lab – State Library of New South Wales
The DX Lab is a place where innovation, experimentation and collaboration are explored. The DX Lab builds creative, engaging and new ways to explore the Library’s collections, data sets and services through a diverse range of digital experiences. Existing and emerging technologies are experimented with and this tour will highlight some of the behind the scenes of how the Lab uses technology to build these projects.
Digitisation Lab - State Library of New South Wales
The Digitisation and Imaging Branch  is responsible for  a wide range of digitisation and photographic services to meet needs of  State Library clients and for corporate photography and collection digitisation.  The Branch is comprised of a diverse team of digitisers, digital asset specialists and project managers who together coordinate multiple inhouse and outsourced digitisation projects as part of the Treasury funded, 10 year Digital Excellence Program.  The Digitisation Labs are equipped with state of the art scanners and cameras copy workstations by which thousands of unique and fragile collection items are digitised each year.  
 

 

University of Technology Sydney: ASRS (automated storage retrieval system) and Data Arena

LRS – University of Technology Sydney (UTS)
The Library Retrieval System (LRS) is an automated storage and retrieval facility where our low-use collection items are sorted by size and stored in metal bins. When you request an item, these bins are retrieved automatically by a robotic crane. Library staff deliver these items to UTS Library throughout the day for collection. UTS Data Arena
The UTS Data Arena is a 360-degree interactive data visualisation facility set to change the way we view and interact with data.  Viewers stand in the middle of a large cylindrical screen, four metres high and ten metres in diameter. A high performance computer graphics system drives six 3D-stereo video projectors, edge-blended to create a seamless three-dimensional panorama.
 
It’s a powerful immersive facility which can help business, government, and research simplify complex information. Users in the Arena can surround themselves in data to observe, explore, refine, improve, discover and learn.
